62 animated films selected in the official program will be screened at the eight edition of the International Film Festival for animated film Animax Skopje Fest, 12 of which are intended for children’s audiences. The event will be held from November 29 to December 2 in the Cinematheque of Macedonia under the motto “Not whenever. Forever. Animax Skopje Fest “.
In the four festival days of Animax Skopje Fest, 50 short films and 12 films for children will be screened in official competition. They are selected from the reported record 3,234 animation films from 83 countries worldwide, most of them from the United States, England and France, but also from Germany, India, Iran, Spain, Russia, Brazil and others.
Many of the films that are competing for the Golden Brick award already have prestigious awards, winners of A category film festivals.
The screenings of the films from the official program of the festival will begin at 20:00h, with the exception of Friday (30.12), when the program will start at 21:30. Tickets for the screenings at 20:00 hours are 50.00 MKD. The screenings of the children’s films will be held on December 1 and 2 (Saturday and Sunday) starting at 12:00h. The audience will have the opportunity to vote for the best film for children and choose the winner. The screenings for children are free.
Two animation workshops intended for children will be organized within the festival. Mentors at the first workshop titled ” Two people are arguing, everybody loses ” are Ilcho Simovski and Marjana Simovska. Bojan Tanevski is mentor at the workshop for developing characters – “Good, Bad, Ugly or Beautiful – They are All Characters”.
Animax Skopje Fest is the first and only festival of animated film in Macedonia.
