Skopje welcomes artists from all over Europe as living statues entertaining audicences with their performance on April 28th-29th at the first International festival "Urban Fest".
The festival starts on April 28th (Friday) at 7 pm on Jadran Square. The first day of the festival will last four and a half hours, and the second through the whole day. The visual perception of "Urban Fest" will be complemented with urban rhythms. Contemporary music will be served by some of the best Macedonian DJs. Transmiting the city pulse will be Maci, Ogi, Shurbe and Bugimen.
At 1.30 pm on Saturday, April 29th, during a concert of Skopje jazz band “Flying Pekingese” performing will be artists of “European statue project” in which several artists directly animate the audience present at the festival", organizers said.
“Urban Fest" will be enriched with the performance of the band "Foltin". The event is under the auspices of Municipality Center, and organized by "Teatrosk" production of street art from Skopje.
The premiere of Skopje Dance Theater entitled "Skin", choreographed by Matea Kiselicka, Adrijana Danchevska and Risima Risimkin will be shown on April 12th at 8 pm on the stage of the Macedonian National Theater.
The performance is composed of three choreographies "Boiler" by Risima Risimkin on original music score by Tony Kitanovski, "Wrong" by Adriana Danchevska, with music of the band "Verka" and the choreography entitled "Same source" by Mate Kiselicka, on music selection from several authors. The costumes for the entire performance are made by Blagoj Micevski.
Performing will be dancers of Skopje Dance Theater: Aleksandar Petrushevski, Jacob Munko, Dejan Bitrovski, Tringa Hisa, Sara Cvetkovska, Jovana Zajkova, Mate Kiselicka, Adrijana Danchevska, the guest from Italy Fabiana Karchesio and guests from China Wang Ning and Li Ye.
Zurich University of the Arts is performing “From Zurich with love” at “DanceFest 2017” on Monday, April 10th at 8 pm at the Macedonian National Theater. The performance is the first major tour of a contemporary dance company from Switzerland at "Dance Fest", consisting of several choreographies, including the choreography of Adriana Danchevska from Skopje Dance Theater, then Renault Waiser, Emmanuel Sauvee and Barak Marshall, a top Israeli choreographer.
With "A play with four actors and some pigs ..." performed by the independent theater "Qendra multimedia" from Kosovo on April 8th at 8 pm on the stage of the Drama Theater Skopje will start the 10th jubilee edition of the International Theater Festival "Faces without masks ", which is being held under the slogan "Leave a trace".
-The official competition program, selected seven plays which correspond to the principles of the festival. The plays from this year's program are largely a critique of the social moment in which we live no matter on which side of the world. The performances of the official program are on the line of "Kafkaism" and "Orwellism – points out the selector of the festival Igor Ivkovic.
The performances that follow are the guests from Russia, "32. The festival will be held from April 8 to April 12th at the scenes in the Drama Theater, the Army Hall, Comedy Theater and the small stage of Drama Theater Skopje.
- This year the festival will award three prizes: Grand Prix, Best Director Award, Best Actor Award, and will be decided by the three-member jury: Dejan Damjanovski director, Trajce Georgiev, actor and Tony Dimkov, journalist and theater critic - said Miodrag Kostic, director of ITF "Faces without masks".
The tenth anniversary of the festival besides the official program will be marked during the year with additional events.
The spectacular opening of Dance Fest 2017 under the motto “Be your own” is happening on April 5th at 8 pm with the exceptional performance “PIXEL” of Murat Merzuki, France (Centre Chorégraphique National de Créteil et du Val-de-Marne / Compagnie Käfig - directed by Mourad Merzouki).
