Ballet spectacle "Swan Lake" performed by the State Ballet on ice of St. Petersburg will be presented to the Macedonian public. The most famous ballet masterpiece by Peter I. Tchaikovsky will be performed on the stage of the Macedonian Opera and Ballet on December 16th at 9 pm and December 17th at 11 pm.
State Ballet on ice of St. Petersburg was founded in 1967 by world renowned choreographer Konstantin Boyarsky. Boyarsky was a former soloist of the famous ballet "Mariinsky" and in his ballet career has played with Michael Barishnikov and Natalia Makarova. Musical director and co-founder of the ballet house is Leo Corkin, known Russian conductor. Over the years, in the ballet appeared graceful movements of world and European champions in figure skating, among which Olympic champions Lyudmila Belousova, Oleg Protopopov and Lyudmila Smirnova.
The performances are set by the choreographer Konstantin Rasadin, recognized Russian artist. This ballet company has first set classical ballets in classical costumes and scenery on ice installed on the theater stage. In the last 5 years this ballet production was successfully performed on the best stages in the US, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, China, Spain, Taiwan, Estonia, Romania.

After a long break on Saturday, December 10th at 8 pm at the Macedonian Opera and Ballet one of the leading bel canto opera "Lucia di Lammermoor" by Gaetano Donizetti will be performed. In the title role we will have the opportunity to listen to Ana Durlovski. The role of Lucia is considered the peak of socalled coloratura singing. Ana Durlovski, winner of the European "Oscar" from German-speaking countries, for superb interpretation, performs at prestigious opera stages around the world like the famous "Metropolitan" Opera in New York, the Vienna State Opera, Milan's La Scala and many other venues.
Performing will be also Marjan Jovanovski, Zoran Sotirov, Marjan Nikolovski, Aleksandar Stefanovski (currently living and working in Germany), Nikolina Janevska and Jane Dunimagloski. Conductor is Gianluca Martinengi from Italy, chief conductor of the Macedonian Opera and Ballet for the current season.
In this fascinating psychological opera Lucia loses her sanity, kills her groom and finally succumbs to madness in one of the most tragic and dramatic music scenes of the opera.

The concert “ZJM Jazz Orchestra plays the BEATLES” will take place at the Macedonian Opera and Ballet on November 26th at 8 pm. The concert includes performances of compositions by the famous Beatles but this time with jazz arrangements by Alan Bejlok, Mike Kraut and Mike Holober, giving them different and more complex overtones. The concert will include famous songs like “Can’t buy me love”, “Get Back”, “Hard Day’s Night”, “Hey Jude”, “Lady Madonna” and many others. Conductor is Sigi Feigl (Austria).
ZJM Jazz Orchestra, which has existed since the formation of the Association of free jazz musicians and artists, is composed of 17 relatively young Macedonian jazz musicians that have built music careers in the country and beyond, playing in different bands. This will be their first introduction to the Macedonian audience in this composition and the Austrian conductor Sigi Feigl is called especially for this occasion. Sigi Feigl teaches at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz and for many years worked with Big Band compositions across Europe.

With the ballet spectacle "Cleopatra" prima ballerina Aleksandra Mijalkova marks the 25th anniversary of her artistic activity. This is a world premiere of the ballet at the Macedonian Opera and Ballet, choreographed by Vasily Medvedev(Russia), and the music is specially written for this show by Neria Cepaite Goldberg (Lithuania), libretto: Yana Temiz (Turkey),conductor: Bisera Chadlovska, stage and costume design by Pavol Juras (Slovakia), and Stanislav Feco (Czech Republic)is assistant choreographer.
In the role of Mark is principal dancer Boban Kovacevski, Caesar is Vasil Chichijashvili (Georgia), Octavia is Marija Kicevska-Shokarovska, The Snake is Mimi Pop Aleksova-Atanasovska, Octavian - Kiro Pavlov and Apollodoros - Doychin Dochev (Bulgaria). For this performance the whole ensemble of ballet, choir and opera is engaged.
The ballet will have performances on November 23rd, November 25th and December 14th at 8 pm.

Macedonian Opera and Ballet since the beginning of this season, in the renovated salon and MOB Lobby continues the beautiful practice for performances of local and guest soloists with recitals and concerts. On Friday, October 28th in the lobby of MOB a concert titled “VIVE LA FRANCE!” will be held with The Pearls of the French opera treasury. The concert will feature leaders of the Macedonian Opera and Ballet: Vesna Ginovska-Ilkova-soprano, baritone Boris Trajanov and Gjorgi Cuckovski-tenor.
They will be accompanied by the orchestra of the Macedonian Opera and Ballet. Concert master is Kliment Todorovski, director Dejan Proshev and conductor - Bisera Chadlovska.
