Carmina Burana

. Audience will enjoy the powerful performance of the most popular stage cantata “Carmina Burana” by the German composer Karl Orf.

Carmina Burana has been attracting attention for years as directors and choreographers, as well as to the numerous audiences she constantly searches for on the current repertoire.
The soloists of the opera are: Katerina Stojanovska – soprano, Dejan Stoev – counterattacker, Goran Nacevski – baritone
Soloists of the ballet: Maria Kichevska Shokarovska, Ivana Kocevska, Sasha Evtimova, David Buffonet (Italy), Miroslav Mitrashinovic.
The conductor is Bisera Chadlovska. The choir, orchestra and the ballet ensemble of the MOB are performing.

Carmina Burana is a scenic cantata composed in 1935 and 1936 by Carl Orff, based on 24 poems from the medieval collection  Carmina Burana. Its full Latin title is Carmina Burana: Cantiones profanae cantoribus et choris cantandae comitantibus instrumentis atque imaginibus magicis (“Songs of Beuern: Secular songs for singers and chourses to be sung together with instruments and magical images”). It was first performed in Frankfurt on 8 June 1937. It is part of  Tronfi, a musical triptych that also includes Catulli Carmina and Trionfo di Afrodite. The first and last movements of the piece are called “Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi” (“Fortune, Empress of the World”) and start with the very well known ” O Fortuna”.
