47th May Opera Evenings

47th May Opera Evenings will be officially opened on May 9th and will be closed with the premiere of Aida, Giuseppe Verdi’s magical masterpiece. The merging of the tradition with visual innovation, the futuristic virtual scenery will take the audience on a journey through ancient Egypt telling a story of love. Italian conductor Enrico Dovico has the honor to open the May Opera Evenings with the premiere performance of Aida produced by the Theater Carlo Felice from Genoa, Italy. The director translates and adapts Dejan Proshev, choreography is by Louise Baldini, while the assistant choreographer is Sasha Evtimova. Blagica Pop Tomova will perform in the main roles as Aida, Amadi Laga (France / Tunisia) as Radames, Irena Kavkalevska as Amnerys and Boris Trajanov as Amonsaro. The role of Ramfis will be interpreted by Vladimir Sazdovski, while Evgeny Stanimirov from Bulgaria will perform in the role of the Pharaoh.

The opening ceremony is on May 9 and the festival runs until May 31. During the festival, some of the most beautiful opera performances are performed, as well as a ballet performance with renowned domestic and international directors, conductors, choreographers, opera and ballet soloists.
