Hip Hop Grandmaster Flash in Skopje

On February 26, in the nightclub Stanica 26, starting at 9 pm, the hip hop pioneer Grandmaster Flash will perform for the first time in front of the Macedonian audience with a two-hour set. The two-hour DJ performance in Skopje is part of his big tour “Hip-Hop: People, Places and Things”. Fans will see in Skopje a kind of music timeline and an hour for education about everything that means hip hop from the 70’s to the present. The show is organized by 3 Gong in cooperation with SureShotz Entertainment. Shorty P & Irie Scratch will feature local support.

Grandmaster Flash has recently won the Polar Music Prize for the year 2019. This music award is considered to be the equivalent of the Nobel Prize, and is awarded in Sweden. In the previous years, this award was won by Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Johnny Mitchell, Sting, Petty Smith, Chuck Berry, Kronos Quartet, Bjork, Enio Morricone, Pink Floyd … The award was announced as one of the main “guilty persons” for creating hip-hop sounds.
